MICROTEL INN & SUITES BY WYNDHAM RALEIGH, Raleigh

The hotel sits at 1209 Plainview Drive, directly off I-440, making it convenient for highway travel. Downtown Raleigh is a 10-minute drive; Wake Medical Hospital is under 5 minutes away. The North Carolina State Capitol is 6 km from the property. Several fast-food options (Waffle House, Wendy's, Popeyes) are within 0.5 km, and a Walmart is nearby. The property shares a parking lot with two gas stations, and the immediate area has a high concentration of homeless individuals and reported drug activity. Key-card building access offers some security, but the environment can feel unsafe, especially after dark. Museums (NC Museum of Natural Sciences, Marbles Kids Museum) are a short drive away.

Room options include double rooms with one or two beds and suites with a separate sleeping area. All rooms have a private bathroom with bath and hairdryer, air conditioning, a tea and coffee maker, and cable TV with HBO. Upper-floor rooms are reachable by lift. Non-smoking rooms are available. No rooms have balconies, kitchenettes, or king-size beds. Cleanliness and maintenance vary: some units have recently remodeled furniture and appear clean, while others show signs of wear such as stained sheets, roaches, musty odours, faulty door locks, and bathroom issues. Noise from the parking lot, hallways, and adjacent rooms can be disruptive. Checking the door lock and room condition upon arrival is strongly advised.

A complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning, typically including cereal, bread for toast, waffle mix, coffee, juice, and apples. Milk, fruit, and bagels are not always provided; waffle mix freshness varies. The breakfast area may lack lids for coffee cups and basic supplies. No restaurant or room service is available on the property. Vending machines offer drinks and snacks. Guests seeking a fuller meal can walk to fast-food outlets within 0.5 km or drive to nearby restaurants.

WiFi is free in all areas. Parking is free and on-site with no reservation needed. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out. A business centre with fax and photocopying is available. Laundry facilities are on-site (wash $3.50, dry $3.50; detergent $1.25 per load from front desk). Vending machines for drinks and snacks are present. The lift provides access to upper floors. The property is equipped for disabled guests. Pets are not allowed. The hotel enforces a non-smoking policy and noise policy, though compliance varies. Key-card building access and exterior lighting are provided for security.
