The cottage sits in a quiet rural setting near Currie, just a 15-minute walk from a bus stop serving route 44 to Edinburgh city centre (30-minute journey). A Park and Ride at Hermiston Gate is 10 minutes by car, and Curriehill train station (10-minute drive) provides links to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Nearby amenities include a pub, shop, and petrol station within a short drive. Heriot-Watt University is also close by. The location offers direct access to walking trails from the doorstep, with hiking popular in the surrounding hills.

The sleeping arrangement consists of a separate bedroom with a double bed and two single beds, plus a folding bed available on request for a child. Two bathrooms include a walk-in shower and a bath. The living area has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, and a selection of books and DVDs. The kitchen is equipped with a stovetop, oven, refrigerator, kitchenware, electric kettle, tea and coffee maker, and a dining table.
