HOTEL MODERNO, Siena

Hotel Moderno is conveniently positioned just outside Siena's ZTL, making it easy to reach by car. The 24-hour escalator across the street leads directly into the historic centre - Piazza del Campo is about a 10-minute walk once you reach the top. Siena train station is 2 km away, and the bus station at Piazza Gramsci is 800 metres (15 minutes on foot). Several restaurants, including Il Muretto and Osteria Le Sorelline, are within a 5-minute walk. The location suits those who prefer to walk into the centre without navigating steep hills.

The hotel restaurant (Ristorante #2) offers Italian cuisine, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, with dinner service. During summer, meals are served in the garden. A snack bar and bar are also on site, and special diet menus are available on request. Breakfast is a continental buffet (available for an additional charge of €10), including bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, and hot drinks. During busy periods, the single coffee machine can create queues. The garden breakfast setting is a highlight in good weather.

The property has a pleasant garden with outdoor furniture, ideal for sitting in the evening or enjoying breakfast on warm mornings. The shared lounge and TV area are furnished in a classic style with fine furniture and sculptures. There is no swimming pool, spa, or wellness centre. Board games and puzzles are available for entertainment. The hotel is a practical base for exploring Siena's museums and sights, rather than a destination for on-site leisure activities.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas. Lift access is available. Luggage storage is free of charge. The reception offers a concierge service and tour desk. Daily housekeeping is provided at no extra cost. Safety features include CCTV in common areas, a security alarm, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box. Pets are allowed on request with possible additional charges. Meeting and banquet facilities (available for an additional charge) and fax/photocopying services are offered. An emergency cord, raised toilet, grab rails, and wheelchair-accessible rooms are available for guests with mobility needs. The hotel is non-smoking throughout.
