MONACO HOTEL, Dubai

The hotel occupies one of Dubai's World Islands, providing a secluded resort environment away from the city centre. Guests depart from a dedicated jetty near Jumeirah Canal; parking is free for hotel guests at this departure point. Al Rigga metro station is a 5-minute walk from the mainland jetty, connecting to Dubai's metro network. The island itself is compact, with all hotel facilities (beach, pools, dining) within easy walking distance. Since no restaurants or shops exist on the island, guests must rely entirely on the hotel's own dining options. The nearest mainland dining options are a boat ride away, so advance meal planning is recommended.

Room categories include options with sea views, pool views, or overlooking the Raining Street. All rooms feature private bathrooms, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, in-room safes, free toiletries, and carpeted floors. While some rooms are well-maintained with comfortable bedding and modern decor, others have been reported to have issues such as worn furniture, odors, or inconsistent housekeeping. For a quieter stay, request a sea-view room or a room away from the pool area, as music from the pool can be audible in nearby rooms. Certain rooms may have balconies; those on lower floors may experience noise from construction or public areas.

Breakfast is a buffet served with live music, offering pastries, fresh fruit, an egg station, and hot dishes. La Brasserie serves both buffet and à la carte options for lunch and dinner, with international dishes. La Rive specialises in seafood and requires reservation. The pool bar provides light fare and cocktails throughout the day. All-inclusive packages may have restrictions on menu items and premium drinks. Service speed can be slow during peak hours. External food is not allowed on the island, so all meals must be taken at the hotel. For special occasions, the hotel can arrange cakes and room decorations upon request.

The main pool is open around the clock and features daily pool parties with live DJs and saxophone performances. The pool is heated during cooler months, though heating may not be consistent. A smaller secondary pool is also available. The private beach has fine sand and calm, shallow water, but sun loungers and umbrellas are limited; arriving early is advisable to secure a spot. The fitness centre is free and equipped with basic machines. Unique leisure offerings include the Raining Street, a covered walkway that simulates rainfall every 30 minutes, and occasional water sports (seasonal). No spa or treatment facilities are on site.
