The hostel occupies a former monastery next to the Church of Ognissanti, placing it on the quieter riverbank yet within a 10-minute walk of the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, and Fortezza da Basso convention centre. Florence Airport is 9 km away, and Santa Maria Novella train station is a 10-minute walk, making bus and tram connections easy. Several supermarkets and popular restaurants (Trattoria Sostanza, Restaurante Il Latini) are within 500 m. The immediate area is best explored on foot; driving is complicated by ZTL zones and a lack of parking.

Dormitories range from 4 to 26 beds, subdivided into smaller enclosures for added privacy. Bunk beds are sturdy with solid stairs, individual reading lights, power sockets, and a shelf inside the locker for phone charging each bed comes with a large metal locker (key provided). The private twin/double rooms include a tiled floor, heating, and a private bathroom, but no towels, soap, or extra amenities. Many dorms lack curtains for lower bunks, and some rooms have no doors, so noise from the corridor can travel. Air conditioning is reported as unreliable in warmer months, and windows are limited in some interior rooms. The building's age means occasional issues with dust and temperature regulation, but the spacious layout and high ceilings provide a grand atmosphere.

Breakfast consists of a single croissant (choice of plain, Nutella, or jam) and a hot drink, served in the courtyard garden or on the go. The timing is late for early sightseers, and the window is only one hour, which can cause queues. For other meals, the shared kitchen is equipped with a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and basic cooking utensils, allowing self-catering. A number of trattorias and cafés are within a 5-minute walk for a full lunch or dinner.

The former monastery cloisters feature a shaded garden with seating, ideal for relaxing away from the city bustle. There is no pool, gym, or spa. The common areas include a large kitchen and a lobby lounge. The tranquil garden atmosphere offsets the lack of dedicated wellness facilities, making the space suitable for quiet downtime.
