Ocean Beach is a two-minute walk, Golden Gate Park's Lincoln entrance is a three-block walk, and the SF VA hospital is convenient by car or tram. The surrounding Outer Sunset neighbourhood is safe, with a wide selection of restaurants (including Thai Cottage, Woods Outbound, Hook Fish Co, Thanh Long, and Outerlands), a 7-Eleven, and a healthy grocery store all within a 5-minute walk.

Standard rooms are described as spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, adequate pillows, and warm blankets. Each includes a flat-screen TV with cable and HBO, a fridge, microwave, tea/coffee maker, ironing facilities, and a private bathroom with hairdryer and free toiletries. Soundproofing is minimal: noise from the tram line, the downstairs bar (live music until 2am on some nights), and neighbouring rooms is a consistent issue. Rooms on the street side or above the bar are particularly noisy. There is a noticeable gap under the door that lets in light and outside air. Heating is via a small portable electric or gas unit that may struggle on very cold nights. No air conditioning is available.

The hotel does not have a restaurant or offer breakfast. A drinks vending machine and a bar/lounge area are available on site. The bar can be very loud, with live music lasting until late at night. Fortunately, the surrounding streets offer a wide range of restaurants, cafes, and a 7-Eleven within a 2-5 minute walk, making it easy to find coffee and meals outside the property.

The property has no on-site wellness or leisure facilities such as a pool, spa, or gym. Recreation is based entirely on location: Ocean Beach (2 min walk) and Golden Gate Park (3 blocks) provide walking, jogging, and outdoor activities.
