The hostel sits in the city centre, roughly 5 km from Microsoft Theater and Crypto.com Arena and 7 km from Dodger Stadium. Union Station is a 17-minute walk away, and a bus stop at the nearby corner offers a quicker option. For airport transfers from LAX, the FlyAway bus is the easiest route, dropping you near the station. Chinatown station (Metro) is just three blocks away, making car-free city access simple. Walking distance to restaurants in Little Tokyo is a plus, though the immediate street environment may feel less safe for solo night walking. Those driving can find free street parking on Santa Fe Ave or 2nd Street, or rent one off-street space for $20/night.

The sleeping area has no curtains or doors between beds, and all 18 single and double pods share one large room. Beds have individual night lights, outlets, and a small shelf; upper bunks are reached by stairs and have a wire guardrail. No air conditioning is available - the space can get hot, especially in warmer months, and ventilation is limited. The beds are comfortable, but the open layout means noise travels easily, including from the metro trains nearby and late-night activity in the kitchen. The property has shared bathrooms with two small showers and toilets; a sink in the hallway is shared for brushing teeth. Personal lockers (small/medium) are provided free, using your own lock or buying one for $6.

PodShare DTLA does not have a restaurant or offer breakfast. The shared kitchen is stocked with a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, tea and coffee maker, and a variety of condiments and food items for guest use. The kitchen can become messy and the fridge may be crowded, so labelling stored food is recommended. Plenty of dining options are within a short walk, including Wurstkuche (0.5 km), Nightshade (0.5 km), and Cafe Gratitude (0.5 km), making it easy to find meals nearby.

Wellness facilities are not available: no swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre. Leisure activities on-site are limited to board games/puzzles and the shared lounge/TV area. Occasionally, semi-monthly music events are held at the Venice location, open to guests of all PodShare locations. The focus is on a simple, social hostel experience rather than extensive leisure amenities.

Free Wi-Fi is accessible in all areas. The front desk is staffed during the day (10am-10pm); late check-in details are emailed for after-hours arrivals. Luggage storage is available for use after check-out until 10pm. Lockers (first-come, first-served) are provided for small valuables; bring your own lock or buy one for $6/$3. A washing machine is on-site. Parking is very limited: one paid space at $20/night or free street parking. Security features include CCTV in common areas and outside, smoke alarms, and a security alarm. The property is non-smoking throughout and pets are not allowed (service animals excepted).
