The hotel is situated on Hayden Island, bordered by the Columbia River, with rapid access to both downtown Portland and Vancouver, Washington via Interstate 5. It is 2 km from the Portland Expo Center, 4 km from the Portland International Raceway, and 15 km from the Oregon Zoo. The immediate area includes fast-food options (Taco Bell, Burger King) within a short walk, plus a Target and Dick's Sporting Goods nearby. The neighborhood has some safety concerns, but the hotel's gated parking lot and 24-hour security provide a secure environment. A fenced grassy dog area is available on-site.

The hotel offers 197 suites, including economy queen rooms of approximately 48 m². Each room features a private bathroom with hairdryer, individual PTAC air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker (pouches, not K-cups). The property has both renovated and older rooms; renovated rooms have modern decor, while older rooms may show wear. Rooms on lower floors near the back are pet-friendly. Breakfast is served daily: weekdays 6:00-9:00 AM, weekends 7:00-10:00 AM. The buffet includes scrambled eggs, sausage, French toast, potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, and a made-to-order omelet station. The omelet station can have long waits later in the morning. The evening social (Oxford Social) runs from 5:30-7:30 PM, offering a complimentary drink, hot soup, and breadsticks. The on-site restaurant, Hayden's Bar & Bistro, is open Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00 to 10:00 PM, serving regional favorites like smashburgers.
