EASTSIDE LODGE, Portland

The lodge is on Burnside Street, a main artery with numerous restaurants, bars, and shops along NE 28th Avenue (known as Restaurant Row). It is within 2 km of the Oregon Convention Center, a 5-minute drive to the Moda Center, and less than 10 minutes to the Oregon Museum of Science. Powell's City of Books, Portland Art Museum, and Voodoo Doughnut are just minutes away. Public transit (TriMet bus) runs right by the property, making it easy to reach downtown without a car. The area is walkable and feels safer than some parts of downtown at night. A nightclub is adjacent to the property, which can create noise on weekends - rooms facing away from it are quieter.

Room types include Non-Smoking Queen (2 persons), King (2), Queen/Twin (3), Double Queen (4), and a Double Queen Accessible room for guests with disabilities. All come with a private bathroom, flat-screen satellite TV, iron/ironing board, and a work desk. Some rooms have been recently renovated with modern fixtures, while others are older with worn furniture and minor maintenance issues. Noise can be an issue: rooms near the nightclub or on the Burnside side may hear music or traffic. The lodge does not serve breakfast or have a restaurant. However, the Kerns neighborhood is a foodie destination with dozens of eateries within a short walk. Along NE 28th Avenue you'll find La Buca (Italian), Screen Door (Southern comfort), Han Oak (Korean), Dove Vivi (cornmeal-crusted pizza), and many more. For a quick bite, the vending machines in the lobby offer snacks and drinks. Several coffee shops and bakeries are also nearby for a morning pastry. Plan to eat out for all meals - the location makes it easy to try Portland's famous dining scene.

Eastside Lodge does not have a swimming pool, spa, or on-site gym. For outdoor relaxation, Oregon Park is a short walk away, and the larger Laurelhurst Park (with jogging trails, picnic areas, and a pond) is just beyond the neighborhood. The area is bike-friendly, and the historic Laurelhurst Theater shows movies for a relaxing evening. For nightlife, The Goodfoot offers live music and dancing. If you need to unwind after a day of exploring, the complimentary lobby coffee and tea provide a simple break.

The lodge offers free high-speed Wi-Fi in all rooms, though speeds can be slow during peak usage. Parking is free and on-site, but spaces are limited and fill quickly - arrive early to secure a spot. The 24-hour front desk can assist with luggage storage (available pre-check-in and post-check-out), key card issues, and local recommendations. An elevator serves the upper floors.
