The property is centrally located, with shopping and dining options within a 0.5 km walk (including Jake's Restaurant & Bar, Denny's, and Williedean Bagels). The city's free Wave bus stops nearby and can take you around the island and Port Isabel, making a rental car unnecessary for local trips. Brownsville Airport is 20-30 minutes by car. Matamoros is 43 km away, and Brownsville is 38 km away.

The hotel is an older property with basic, clean rooms. All units have air conditioning, heating, carpeted floors, a sitting area, and a balcony. All rooms have a partial view of the beach and island - the best views are from the Ocean Front Efficiency rooms and upper-floor Two-Bedroom Suites. A kitchen is available in most rooms (except the Two-Queen-Bed room which has a mini-fridge and microwave), and includes a stove, oven, full-size refrigerator, cookware, dishes, and utensils. Bathrooms can be compact, with some layouts having the vanity sink outside the bathroom. The property has 8 floors and an elevator.

The hotel offers a free continental breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. During the week, only free coffee is available. There is no full-service restaurant or bar on the property.
