PENSION KERN, Prague

Pension Kern sits in a peaceful residential neighbourhood in Prague 5, well-suited for travellers who prefer a quiet setting over central bustle. The bus stop directly in front of the property connects to the city centre in 10-15 minutes, though buses run roughly every 30 minutes. Tram 9, a 10-minute walk away, provides a frequent and direct link to the historic core. The airport is 13 km away - a practical option for those with an early flight or late arrival. A Lidl supermarket is within a 10-minute walk for supplies, and several restaurants and pubs are about 1 km away. Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and Old Town Square are 4-6 km from the property, easily reachable by public transport.

The property offers single, double, twin, and quadruple rooms (the quadruple is the largest at approximately 23 m2). All rooms are air-conditioned and include a private bathroom, a tea and coffee maker, an electric kettle, a wardrobe, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a terrace. While many rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained, others have been noted for dated decor, musty or smoky smells, worn mattresses and pillows, and mould or dampness in the bathroom. Road-facing rooms can experience traffic noise, and top-floor rooms may get very hot in summer despite advertised air conditioning. The absence of TVs in rooms is standard; the property provides a kettle, cups, and free toiletries. Light sleepers should request a quiet room away from the road.

The property has a coffee house on site for hot drinks, but does not offer breakfast or restaurant meals. Guests looking for food should plan to eat out or buy supplies. Within a 10-minute walk, there is a Lidl supermarket, and several dining options are about 1 km away, including Klamovka, Pizza nebo pasta bistro, and L'Estaminet Restaurant. The location works well for self-catering or eating out, but those wanting a quick on-site breakfast may need to adjust expectations.

On-site leisure facilities are limited to a terrace where guests can sit outside. For active recreation, the surrounding area offers boating and scuba diving opportunities, though these are not operated by the property. The quiet residential setting itself is pleasant for walking, and the nearby forest offers a scenic environment. Guests seeking a full-service spa or gym should plan activities off-site.
