PENSION SANTA PAULA, Malaga

Pensión Santa Paula sits beside Plaza de la Constitución, the heart of Málaga's old town. The Cathedral is 5 minutes away on foot, and the train station is a 9-minute walk, making it ideal for travellers arriving by rail. The surrounding streets are filled with tapas bars, shops, and restaurants. The beach is about 15 minutes' walk. The central location means easy access to all major sights, but also brings street noise, especially at night. Guests arriving by car should note there is no on-site parking; public parking is available nearby for an extra fee.

Rooms are functional and basic, with a bed, work desk, wardrobe, and free WiFi. Some rooms have a Juliet balcony overlooking the street. All rooms share bathrooms, which are separated by gender. The building has heating, a lift, and non-smoking throughout. There is no air conditioning, but fans are provided. Room quality varies: some are clean and spacious, while others show wear. For a quieter stay, request a room away from the main street. The shared bathrooms are cleaned regularly, but some may find them dated. The property suits budget travellers who prioritise location and price over luxury.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and offers a continental buffet with bread, jam, cereal, milk, coffee, and juice. Vegan options are available. The breakfast room has a basic, functional setting. While simple, it provides a convenient start to the day. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but many dining options are within a short walk. Vending machines in the building offer drinks for when you want a quick snack.

While not on-site, the hotel's central location makes it easy to enjoy various activities. Golf is available within 3 km for an extra charge. Live music performances and a water park are located off-site. Pub crawls and guided cultural tours can also be arranged for an additional fee. For those who prefer to explore independently, the city's museums, beaches, and historic sites are all within walking distance.

The hotel offers free WiFi in all areas. The 24-hour front desk can assist with tourist info, concierge, and tour bookings. Luggage storage is free, useful for late departures. A lift provides access to upper floors. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, fire extinguishers, and key access. Fax/photocopying is available for business needs. There is no parking on site, but public parking can be found nearby. Payment is accepted via Visa, Red 6000, Maestro, and MasterCard.
