The Prince William Hotel is on Gloucester Terrace, within a 5-minute walk of both Paddington Station (Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line) and Lancaster Gate Underground (Central line). Hyde Park is a 5-minute walk away; Buckingham Palace is 3 km. Major museums (Natural History, Science, V&A) and the Royal Albert Hall are within 15-25 minutes on foot or a short tube ride. The West End, Oxford Street, and Marble Arch are easily reached via the Central line. The area is quiet and safe, with many restaurants, cafés, and a convenience store nearby. For onward travel, King's Cross St Pancras is about 25 minutes by tube, and direct trains to Gatwick and Luton are available from Victoria or Paddington.

Rooms vary in size, with many described as small or compact-especially triple rooms and those on the lower ground floor. Some rooms have windows that open only a few centimetres, and a specific Double Room without Window is available; request a windowed room at booking. No air conditioning is provided, only a small fan; heating is available and can be controlled individually. Some rooms face the road and can be noisy, while those on higher floors or away from the street are quieter. Bathrooms are en-suite with a shower, but can be very small. The building is an older, listed property with a mix of Victorian and modern decor; some rooms have recently been refurbished. Iron available on request.

Breakfast is continental style: bread, pastries, croissants, toast, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cheese, cold meats, boiled eggs, juice, tea, and coffee from a machine. It is served from 7:30-9:30 on weekdays and 8:00-10:00 on weekends and bank holidays. The breakfast room is small and can become crowded. No cooked breakfast is offered. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but many restaurants, cafés, and pubs are within a 3-5-minute walk, including Italian, Indian, and Malaysian options.

The hotel does not have a spa, swimming pool, gym, or any leisure facilities. Hyde Park is a 5-minute walk away and offers walking, cycling, boating, and open space for relaxation. Kensington Gardens, the Royal Albert Hall, and several museums are also within walking distance.
