THE ROMEHELLO, Rome

The RomeHello sits in the heart of Rome, one block from Repubblica Metro and a 10-minute stroll from Roma Termini railway station. Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are both about 1 km away, while the Colosseum and Vatican City (4 km) are reachable on foot or via metro. The immediate area is well served with supermarkets, cafés, and restaurants - many within a few hundred metres. The neighbourhood feels safe even late at night, and most major tourist sights are within a 15-30 minute walk. The lack of on-site parking means walking, metro, or taxi is the most practical way to get around. A shuttle bus from Fiumicino or Ciampino airport costs around €7-€8 to Termini, then a 10-minute walk; a private transfer can be arranged directly with the hostel.

Room options range from private doubles, triples, and quadruples with en-suite bathroom to 4-bed, 6-bed, and 10-bed mixed dorms, plus a 3-bed female dorm. All rooms feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, desk, and heating. Private bathrooms include a shower, hairdryer, and bidet. Dorm bathrooms are shared but located inside the room, which reduces corridor noise but can still cause disturbance from other guests. Bunk beds in dorms do not have curtains, so an eye mask is useful if light bothers you. Each dorm bed has a reading light, USB charger, and a lockable drawer under the bed (bring your own padlock or buy one at reception). Towels are included only in private rooms; in dorms they can be rented for €2. Rooms are generally described as clean and spacious, though some dorm spaces feel compact. Road-facing or courtyard-facing rooms can carry noise from evening events until about 11pm, so light sleepers may prefer a room away from the courtyard. Rooms without a balcony.

Recreation at The RomeHello is built around daily social events rather than traditional wellness facilities. Free activities include evening entertainment, karaoke, live music performances, live sport broadcasts, movie nights, table tennis, tours about local culture, and walking tours. Paid extras include cooking classes, happy hour, and walking tours. The outdoor courtyard has a ping-pong table, hammock swings, and seating - popular for drinks and socialising. A nightclub/DJ session is available free of charge. There is no pool, spa, or gym on site. The atmosphere is geared toward socialising, which can make the courtyard and bar area noisy until around 11pm most evenings. For those looking for quiet downtime, the shared lounge areas and kitchen offer calmer alternatives.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and is free and reliable. The 24-hour front desk provides currency exchange, concierge service, and can arrange paid airport shuttles or private transfers (standard rates around €60 to FCO, €50 to CIA). Free luggage storage is offered before check-in and after check-out; a paid deposit service (€2/bag/day) is available for longer periods. Daily housekeeping is free and linens are changed every few days. Laundry machines (washer and dryer) are on site for a fee (€4 each). The shared kitchen is fully equipped with hobs, oven, two large fridges, and a free pantry of basic cooking supplies. A business centre with fax/photocopying is free. The building has a lift and wheelchair-accessible rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Security features include key card access, safety deposit boxes, 24-hour security, CCTV, and smoke alarms. No pets are allowed.
