The hostel is situated on Lavender Hill in Battersea, a lively area with a genuine local feel. Clapham Junction railway station is about 15 minutes on foot, offering direct trains to Gatwick Airport. Three tube stations and two railway stations are within walking distance, and a bus stop just outside the door connects to central London in around 25 minutes. Big Ben, the London Eye, and other major attractions are reachable in about 40 minutes by public transport. The surrounding streets are safe, with shops, markets, and multiple restaurants within a short walk. Free luggage storage makes it easy to explore before check-in or after checkout.

Accommodation is in mixed or female-only dormitories. Beds are bunk beds with three tiers - the ladders have wide gaps and the top bunks are high, which can be challenging for taller guests. Each bed has a privacy screen but no curtains. Rooms are basic, with parquet floors and ceiling-mounted fans but no air conditioning; window opening is restricted, making summer nights very hot and stuffy. There is limited space for luggage, so large suitcases can be a struggle. Free lockers come in two sizes: small wooden lockers for a purse or tablet, and larger steel mesh lockers that fit a carry-on-size bag. Only a few larger lockers are available per room. Shared bathrooms have small sinks and push-button showers that require frequent pressing to keep water flowing.

The Crown's pub serves a range of craft beers from local breweries and international brands, plus cask ales. The food menu focuses on comfort food - burgers with creative names like 'Cheesus Christ' and 'The Juicy Bastard', plus pizza. A burger-and-chips deal with a drink is often available. Breakfast is a basic continental buffet served until 12pm. The pub has a spacious bar, a pool table, live sports on TV, and live music on Fridays. There is a covered terrace at the front for outdoor seating. Outside food is allowed in the pub area but not in the rooms. Several Asian restaurants, a bakery, and other takeaways are within a few minutes' walk.

The hostel offers free Wi-Fi throughout. Luggage storage is free from 9am on arrival day until midnight on checkout day - bags can be stored after checkout as well. A locker room with small lockers for hand luggage and larger steel mesh lockers for backpacks is available. 24-hour reception means you can check in at any hour after 2pm and come and go freely at night. Daily housekeeping keeps the rooms clean, though bathroom cleaning is once a day. An iron and ironing board can be borrowed. There is no guest kitchen, so self-catering is not possible. No parking is available - public parking must be found on nearby streets or rented privately.
