ROOMS RAYO, Madrid

The nearest metro station is a 3-4-minute walk, providing direct access to central Madrid, the Reina Sofía Museum, and El Retiro Park. Plaza Mayor and Gran Vía are roughly 5 km away, while the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Mercado San Miguel are each about 7 km from the property. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is 12 km away. The area has several bars and restaurants within a 5-minute walk, including Taberna Flamenca 'El Cortijo', El Tablon, and Bar Guerrero. Parking is only available on surrounding streets, where both paid and free spots can be found, though availability may vary.

Each room includes a flat-screen TV, a work desk, and heating. Triple rooms have two beds, double rooms have one. The accommodation is divided into single rooms within a shared apartment-a standard double provides a private toilet and basin but the shower is in a shared bathroom. The shared bathroom has been reported as poorly maintained, with mould, strong odours, and inconsistent hot water. Thin internal walls and doors make the property noisy; street-facing rooms add external traffic noise. Light sleepers may find it challenging. Some rooms lack sufficient curtains, and overhead lighting can be harsh. Ventilation is limited: opening the window may bring in street noise, and a provided fan can be loud. The rule of no noise after quiet hours is not enforced, and disturbances from other guests are common.

There is no breakfast included or restaurant on the property. The shared kitchen is equipped with basic utensils, but lacks a kettle, microwave, and a proper dining table-only two chairs are present in the room. Several bars and casual restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including El Tablon, Bar Guerrero, and Churreria Cerveceria Ainhoa, offering options for meals outside the apartment.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas, though some rooms have experienced connectivity issues. The property offers 24-hour security with CCTV in common areas and a security alarm. Daily cleaning staff attend to the shared areas and replace towels, but deep cleaning of individual rooms is inconsistent. Check-in and check-out operate via a self-service code system-no front desk is staffed, so support is only available by chat or phone. There is no luggage storage service, so plan arrival time accordingly.
