SARSFIELD HOSTEL, Dublin

The property is located in the Dublin 8 area, less than 1 km from Kilmainham Gaol and 3 km from Dublin Zoo. A bus stop is directly outside the building, with buses to the city centre running frequently (around a 15-20 minute journey). Dublin Castle is 4 km away. The hostel is situated above a pub, which contributes to noise levels until late evening. A laundromat, a takeaway fish and chip shop, a taco stand, and several pubs and eateries are within a 5-minute walk. Phoenix Park is also nearby.

The property offers rooms with bunk beds (unit has 2 beds) and heating. Some rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink; others use a single shared bathroom for the entire floor. The shared bathroom and kitchen are frequently reported as dirty and unmaintained. Rooms may contain broken furniture, mold, damaged flooring, and inadequate curtains that let in light from the pub below. Bedding and towels are provided but may not be clean. The hostel is above a pub, and noise from the pub's music, as well as other guests, is commonly audible. No air conditioning is available; windows provide limited ventilation. The property is suitable only for very short, low-expectation stays.

The property provides a shared kitchen with a washing machine and dryer, but it is frequently reported as dirty, with limited cooking utensils, old pans, and no microwave. Basic utensils such as forks and plates may not be available, and the kitchen is often crowded with long-term residents. Several eateries are within walking distance: Aladdin's Kebab (0.5 km), The Black Lion (0.5 km), The Richmond Gastropub (0.5 km), Riggers D8 (0.5 km), and The Sugar Loaf Bakery (0.5 km). A takeaway fish and chip shop and a taco stand are also nearby.
