SHINJUKU YC HOSTEL-SJ0399, Tokyo

The location is a key asset: a 10-minute walk from Okubo Station (JR and metro lines) offers direct access across Tokyo, and Shinjuku's busy centre is about 20 minutes on foot or one station by train. A convenience store is a 5-minute walk, and a vending machine is right outside. Numerous halal food shops and other cuisines are nearby. Yoroi Jinja Shrine is a 2-minute walk away, and Kanda Josui Park is a 9-minute stroll. Narita Airport is about an hour away by public transport, and Haneda Airport is 23 km. The quiet neighbourhood suits travellers who want easy access to the city without staying in the busiest areas.

The units are self-contained studios or one-bedroom apartments ranging from about 15 m2 to spaces that can accommodate up to three people. Each comes with a kitchenette (stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, kitchenware) and a washing machine. Rooms have air conditioning, heating, and free WiFi. Some rooms include a balcony. Bed configurations vary: single beds, double beds, or rooms with a sofa bed. Ground-floor rooms have been described as small and may feel humid; upper floors tend to be brighter and drier. A table and storage are provided, but space for luggage is limited. Rooms with a sofa bed can fit two extra people. Some rooms have no curtains on glass doors, so light sleepers may want to bring an eye mask.

Each apartment has a full kitchenette with a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator and basic cookware, enabling guests to prepare their own meals. Nearby dining includes a variety of options within 0.5 km: Chinese Cuisine Okaro, Kitchen Sanae, Healthy Hayuga Okubo and others. Halal food shops are also close by. A convenience store is a 5-minute walk for quick groceries. No breakfast is provided on site, so self-catering or eating out is the standard approach.

The only leisure facility is a shared terrace. For wellness, the neighbourhood provides parks: Kanda Josui Park is a 9-minute walk. The property is a quiet residential base perfect for guests who plan to spend their days exploring Tokyo rather than seeking on-site leisure amenities.

WiFi is free throughout. A check-in guide is sent on the day of arrival, and luggage can be dropped off from 11:00 on check-in day (stored until 16:00 check-in). No luggage storage is available after checkout. The building has no elevator, and floors are indicated by the room number (1-4). The property is self-check-in with no front desk; communication is via the booking chat. A washing machine is provided in each apartment, and a convenience store is nearby for supplies. No parking, no pets, no smoking.
