Hotel Details

Location

A 4-minute walk from Takadanobaba Station, with the Tokyo Metro Tozai line entrance almost at the door.

The property is within 100 metres of the Tokyo Metro Tozai line's Exit 7 (less than a minute walk) and a short walk from the JR Yamanote line, providing direct rail connections to Shinjuku (1-2 stops), Shibuya, and Ikebukuro. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and the Sunshine 60 Observatory are each about a 10-minute drive away. Tokyo Haneda Airport is a 45-minute drive. The neighbourhood is lively and convenient, with convenience stores, vending machines, restaurants, a Starbucks, a supermarket, and a mall with arcades all within a few minutes' walk. The area feels safe and homey, and the location is quiet inside the house despite being close to a busy street and a bar, though street-facing rooms can pick up noise from late-night passers-by. The property is well suited for those relying on public transport; there is no parking on site.

Wellness and Leisure

No spa, pool, or gym facilities on site; the property offers a traditional Japanese home experience.

There is no spa, swimming pool, fitness centre, or dedicated wellness area at Tama Ryokan. The property focuses on providing a traditional ryokan atmosphere rather than leisure amenities. The shared shower room includes a small bathtub and is available whenever free, typically used by one person or a couple at a time. For a traditional bathhouse experience, a nearby sento is available within walking distance.

Facilities and Services

Free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, daily cleaning, and currency exchange; no parking, shuttle, or 24-hour reception.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Luggage storage is offered free of charge before check-in and after check-out, with bags typically kept in the ground-floor hallway. Daily room cleaning is provided. Currency exchange is available. The hosts can receive mail or tickets (e.g., sumo tickets) for guests. There is no parking, no airport shuttle, and no lift. The property is run by a couple with no full-time staff; reception is not 24-hour - the last check-in is usually midnight. There is no laundry service or kitchen for guest use beyond the shared microwave and fridge. Rooms do not have locks on entrance doors, and some rooms lack a lock on the room door; the property relies on the quiet, respectful nature of guests. Late-night entry is allowed but guests are asked to be quiet.
