The hotel occupies a side street with light traffic just off a main road, making it a practical base for rail-based city exploration. Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) is 5-7 minutes away, providing direct connections to the airport, Messe convention centre (U-Bahn), and the wider region. The popular Mönckebergstraße shopping area is an easy 10-minute walk. However, the immediate surrounding streets include drop-in centres and can feel unsafe at night, with visible drug use and sex work occurring on the pavement. The area is not suitable for families with young children or anyone who needs to walk alone after dark. During the day, a wide range of international restaurants (Turkish, Indian, Italian) is available within a 2-minute walk, plus a Lidl supermarket nearby for self-catering.

The property offers double, triple, and family rooms - the latter sleeping up to four with 2 beds in a family configuration. Bedding is exclusively double beds; twin/single configurations are not available. Rooms are compact; some triple and double rooms are notably small, making it difficult to open a suitcase flat. A few rooms on the top (attic) floor are spacious, though the lift does not reach the attic floor (only up to the 4th floor; some 5th-floor rooms require stairs). The bathroom is private in all rooms but can be extremely narrow - in some cases the toilet is installed in a 0.8 m-wide slot between walls. Showers have a curtain, and drainage issues leading to water on the floor have been noted. Storage is adequate but no in-room fridge or kettle. All rooms have heating, soundproof windows, and carpeted floors. Noise from the street and hallway can penetrate, so rooms facing the courtyard or atop the building are noticeably quieter. Cleanliness has varied: rooms are generally clean when serviced, but bed linen and towels may not be changed daily unless requested.

Breakfast is served in a dedicated room with seating. The selection is basic but adequate for a budget hotel: fresh rolls, sliced meats, cheese, tomato/cucumber, yoghurt, cereal, jam, and hot drinks from a thermos. Special diet menus are available on request. No restaurant or bar is on site. A wide range of international eateries (Turkish, Indian, Persian, Italian) are within a 2-minute walk on the same street, and a Lidl supermarket is just around the corner for self-catering. A bakery with Middle Eastern pastries is located on the corner. The hotel can refrigerate a packed meal on request.
