SMILE INN, Bangkok

The hotel is situated in the historic Rattanakosin area, close to Wat Saket (Golden Mount), the Grand Palace, and Khao San Road (a 20-minute walk). The canal ferry pier at the rear of the property connects directly to Banglamphu and the new centre (Siam/Ratchaprasong) for 12-15 baht per trip, bypassing Bangkok's road traffic. Bus stops (routes S1 and A4) to both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports are a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel, and the ferry stop at Lan Luang is walkable within 5-10 minutes. The area is lively during the day but dark at night, though it remains practical for solo travellers and first-time visitors seeking a budget base near major temples and markets. A 7-Eleven is a 5-minute walk, and a fruit market is nearby.

Breakfast is available at an additional charge (not included in the room rate). The selection is light - mainly bread, pastries, butter, jam, tea and coffee - and is served in the shared lounge area. For travellers wanting a more substantial morning meal, the kitchen area offers tea-making facilities, a kettle, and a microwave. Nearby dining options include Mad Moa and Embassy Coffee (both 0.5 km away), as well as Nakhon Sanuk, providing inexpensive Thai meals and café fare within a short walk. A 7-Eleven is also within 5 minutes on foot for snacks, drinks and instant meals. Room service is available.

The shared balcony and lounge area provide a comfortable spot to sit, watch the canal boats go by, and chat with other guests. The hotel can arrange tours from the reception desk for sightseeing. For activities, guests can walk 20 minutes to Khao San Road or use the canal ferry to access the new centre's commercial and entertainment area. The area is quiet at night, making the balcony suitable for evening relaxation. No pool, gym, spa, or similar leisure facility is present in the property.

Wi-Fi is high-speed and stable throughout the building, including in rooms, reception, and the lobby. The shared kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, and washing/drying machines (68 baht per use). Daily housekeeping is free but provided only upon request - guests who need servicing must inform reception. Luggage storage is free, and guests can leave bags before check-in or after check-out. The staff can store luggage securely while guests explore. A tour desk and concierge service can help arrange tickets and transport, including airport transfers via S1/A4 bus or metered taxis. No parking is available. The hotel is adults-only; pets are not allowed. A shared computer and hair dryer are available in the lobby on request. Fax/photocopying is available for an additional charge.
