SQUARE INN, Rome

The guest house sits in a central area within easy walking distance of Termini station and the metro, making it convenient for reaching the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps in about 30 minutes on foot. Sapienza University is 8 minutes away, and Santa Maria Maggiore is a 13-minute walk. The surrounding streets offer a high density of restaurants, minimarkets, and bars within a few hundred metres. For airport transfers, a bus from Fiumicino costs €8, the train €16, or a taxi approximately €50. The building itself sits on a busy road, but rooms facing the internal courtyard tend to be quieter.

Double, twin/double, and triple rooms are available, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning. Many rooms include a fridge, kettle, and complimentary tea/coffee. Room sizes vary: some are spacious with ample storage, while others are more compact. Corner rooms tend to be larger and include a separate storage area. The older building means some rooms have well-renovated bathrooms but also thinner walls and occasional noise from adjacent rooms and the corridor. Road-facing rooms are noisier; internal-courtyard rooms are quieter but may have less natural light. The lift is small and dated, sometimes requiring manual door closure. Daily housekeeping is standard, with fresh towels provided regularly.

Breakfast is a sweet Italian-style buffet with fresh pastries, bread, and hot drinks from a machine. It provides a convenient start to the day but is limited to sweet items only - no eggs or cheese. The breakfast attendant is attentive and keeps the buffet well-stocked. For guests who prefer a savoury or more varied meal, a large number of cafés and restaurants - including Italian, Indian, Vietnamese, and pizza places - are within a 5-minute walk from the property. The 24-hour front desk can also recommend local dining options.
