ST CHRISTOPHER'S LIVERPOOL STREET, London

The hostel sits directly above a pub on a main road, a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, giving direct access to the Elizabeth, Circle, and Hammersmith & City lines, as well as the Stansted Express. Brick Lane and Hoxton Square are each about 900 metres away, with Spitalfields Market, the Tower of London, and London Bridge all within a 15-minute walk. The immediate area is lively with restaurants, bars, and cafes, and the street remains busy at night, making short walks to the station feel safe. For those arriving by road, there is no parking, and the nearest airport, London City Airport, is 10 km away.

The property offers single and twin private rooms with private or shared bathrooms, as well as 4-bed and 8-bed dormitories, some female-only. Every bed includes a privacy curtain, reading light, shelf, and UK/USB charging ports. Under-bed lockable cages provide luggage storage, and a padlock is required. Rooms are compact and basic, with no shelving or hooks for hanging clothes, so most belongings must be stored on the bunk or in the locker. Air conditioning is fitted in all rooms, but some units can make the room very cold, and building works outside may create early-morning noise. The stairs are steep and narrow, and there is no lift. Bathrooms are shared in dormitories and can be small, with limited space for dry clothes while showering. Housekeeping is minimal, and some fixtures show signs of wear such as mould on shower curtains. City views are available from some twin rooms.

Breakfast is served daily from 8:00 to 10:00 and includes a continental buffet with bread, pastries, hot drinks, and juice. The pub restaurant, The Flying Horse, offers American cuisine and a range of drinks, including cask ales and happy hour specials, with discounts available for hostel guests. The bar also broadcasts live sports events and occasionally hosts live music. There is a designated smoking area, and the pub stays open late, though noise from the bar is usually contained unless windows are open. No kitchen or refrigerator is available for guest use, and the pub does not sell bottled water, only reusable bottles.

Wellness facilities are not available-there is no swimming pool, spa, or gym. Leisure options are limited to the pub's ground-floor activities, including free darts and live sport events on screens. A function room is also available for hostel use when not booked, providing a quiet space for working or reading. For outdoor activities, nearby Shoreditch and Spitalfields offer parks, markets, and walking tours within a short walk.
