SUPER 8 BY WYNDHAM EDMONTON/WEST, Edmonton

The property sits in a commercial and industrial area adjacent to West Edmonton Truckland, making it a practical stop for travelers using Highway 16. Downtown Edmonton is about 20-25 minutes by car depending on traffic, and the University of Alberta is nearby. Free on-site parking with spaces for large vehicles is available, but accessing the hotel from Highway 16 eastbound can be tricky due to the entrance layout. The immediate surroundings include a gas station, convenience store, and a restaurant/bar on the property, while several dining options are a short drive away. Those without a car may find the location inconvenient, as public transport options are limited and walking distances to key attractions are significant.

The breakfast includes cold continental items such as cereal, toast, muffins, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit, along with coffee, tea, juice, and milk. The breakfast room hours are 6:30-9:30 AM. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar/lounge connected to the building, providing convenient meal and drink options for guests without needing to drive. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. The surrounding area also offers several other restaurants within a short drive or walk, but the on-site convenience store and gas station provide quick snack and drink purchases.

The fitness centre is available free of charge and provides basic workout equipment. Some users have noted that machines may occasionally be out of service and that the room lacks weights and a fan. For leisure, West Edmonton Mall (5 km away) includes over 800 stores, an amusement park, and an indoor water park. Other nearby attractions include Telus World of Science and IMAX theatre (6 km), Fort Edmonton Park (with steam train rides), Edmonton Valley Zoo (12 km), and John Janzen Nature Centre (15 km).

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property, though some users have reported inconsistent connectivity and daily data limits. On-site laundry facilities are available at an additional charge, and a vending machine offers drinks and snacks. Daily housekeeping is provided free of charge, and fax/photocopying services are available for a fee. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk with ATM/cash machine on site, and private check-in/check-out is offered. Free public parking is available on site without a reservation. The property is wheelchair accessible with a lower bathroom sink, raised toilet, and grab rails. No pets are allowed. Some guests have noted that smoking around the entrance can be noticeable.
