The property sits just off the interstate, making it a convenient stop for road trips. Notre Dame University is 15 minutes away, and the College Football Hall of Fame and Studebaker National Museum are within a 20-minute drive. Potawatomi Zoo is 23 km away. The area is quiet and feels secure, with a large field behind the hotel, ideal for dog exercise. Free on-site parking is available without reservation. No airport shuttle is provided, but the location offers easy access to the turnpike and is within a short drive of area restaurants and shops.

The hotel is an older property undergoing renovation. Rooms are carpeted and feature air conditioning, heating, a seating area, and a private bathroom. Many rooms include a refrigerator and microwave, and select rooms have a jacuzzi or an extended-stay layout with a stovetop. Cleanliness and maintenance can vary; some rooms may show signs of wear such as mold, stains, or pest activity. Bed comfort is mixed - some find mattresses stiff and pillows flat, while others describe them as comfortable. Noise from footsteps on upper floors can be an issue. Rooms on the ground floor near exits are available and popular with pet owners. The hotel has a lift and offers non-smoking rooms. No rooms have balconies.

Breakfast is a grab-and-go continental buffet typically including waffles, cereal, coffee, juice, and fruit. Items and quality can be inconsistent, with some mornings offering only limited hot options or expired juice. Vending machines are available on-site for snacks and drinks. Since there is no restaurant or bar, guests looking for a hot meal or a fuller breakfast will find several dining options within a short drive from the hotel.

The indoor pool is available but has been subject to occasional closures and maintenance. Some stays have found the pool drained or out of service, so it is advisable to check current operational status before booking if pool use is important. A hot tub is also present. No gym, spa, or other recreational facilities are available on site.
