THE BEACON CHARLOTTE AIRPORT, Charlotte

Located just 2 km from the airport, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle starting at 5 AM for early departures. Downtown Charlotte is 8 km away, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center is a 12-minute drive. Nearby dining options include Oscar's Restaurant (0.5 km) and Carolina Family Restaurant (2 km). Coyote Joe's concert venue is 1 km away. The property sits next to an interstate, so highway-facing rooms can experience traffic noise. Parking is free and ample, making it convenient for travelers with vehicles.

The hotel offers spacious suites with one bedroom and one bathroom, featuring a shower, hairdryer, and carpeted floors. Each unit includes air conditioning, heating, a wardrobe, sofa, and cable TV. Room types include suites with 2 or 3 beds. The property is older and dated, with some reports of worn carpets, peeling paint, and broken fixtures. Rooms near the highway can be noisy, and some have poorly functioning air conditioning units. For a quieter stay, request a room away from the road. Overall, the accommodation suits short, practical overnight stays but may not meet expectations for longer visits.

Breakfast includes a variety of hot and cold items such as pastries, cereals, and hot drinks. The breakfast area can sometimes run out of items during peak times. The setup is generally clean and orderly. For other meals, the surrounding area has several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel does not have a full-service restaurant or bar on site.

The front desk operates 24 hours and offers express check-in/check-out, safety deposit boxes, and luggage assistance. Laundry services and fax/photocopying are available. Wi-Fi is free and reliable in rooms. The free airport shuttle runs from 5 AM on a half-hour schedule, but the van holds only 5 passengers, so plan accordingly. Parking is free with no reservation needed, though the parking lot has had vehicle break-ins and non-functioning security cameras. The property has a lift, but overall maintenance and cleanliness have been inconsistent. Housekeeping may not always refresh towels or replenish supplies.
