THE CAVALIER INN, Winnipeg

The Cavalier Inn is situated on the outskirts of Winnipeg, providing easy access to major attractions such as the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (5 km) and Forks Market (6 km). The surrounding area offers a variety of dining options within walking distance, including The Burger Factory, Joey's Seafood Restaurant, and Applebee's, all within 0.3-0.5 km. The property's free on-site parking simplifies car-based exploration, though the lack of an airport shuttle means guests must arrange their own transport to/from the airport. The location is convenient for those with a vehicle, but walkability to the city center is limited.

Accommodation options range from standard to renovated rooms, with the latter noted for better comfort. All rooms feature air conditioning, heating, carpeted floors, free toiletries, and a flat-screen TV. Rooms with a balcony are available but must be specifically requested when booking. For two separate beds, a double or family room is required. Beds are queen-sized. Some rooms may feel dated with worn furniture, carpets, and fixtures, particularly in the standard units. Newly renovated rooms generally have cleaner lines, better-maintained linens, and more comfortable beds. The property is undergoing renovations, so some public areas may contain construction materials.

Leisure options are focused on entertainment rather than wellness. Guests can use the on-site casino, try their hand at darts or billiards, or join a happy hour session (charges may apply for some activities). An ice-skating rink is in the surrounding area. There is no spa, fitness centre, or swimming pool. The property also features a VLT lounge. Activities are more suited to socializing and gaming than active recreation.

Essential services include a 24-hour front desk, an ATM on site, and vending machines for drinks and snacks. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Parking is free and does not require a reservation. Pets are allowed upon request with applicable charges and an additional damage deposit. The property operates with a standard check-in from 13:00 and check-out by 11:00. There is no airport shuttle. Guests should note that all rooms are located on the second floor and require climbing stairs; there is no elevator. The front desk can assist with luggage storage and late check-in requests subject to availability.
