THE LAGUARDIA HOTEL, New York

Located in the Queens neighborhood of Corona, the hotel sits across from a park and is within a short walk to the 7 train line (111th Street station), providing a direct 30-minute connection to Times Square and Manhattan. Citi Field is easily reachable on foot, making the property a practical choice for baseball games and concerts. Several Mexican and Asian restaurants, as well as a supermarket, are within a 10-minute walk near the subway station, but the immediate area has few other attractions. The LaGuardia Airport shuttle is a convenient option for flights, though availability should be confirmed. The neighborhood is safe but feels isolated at night; walking to the subway is straightforward but best done directly.

Standard rooms are compact, typical for New York, and include carpeted floors, cable/satellite television, ironing facilities, and free toiletries. Beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning keeps the temperature steady, though some units have been reported as noisy. While many rooms are clean and functional, the property is older and shows wear-hallway carpets are often described as dated or stained, and bathroom counter space is limited. Rooms facing the park tend to be quieter, while those near the main road can pick up street noise. Some rooms have a view of Citi Field, which is a popular feature. Key cards occasionally need reprogramming, and housekeeping may knock early in the morning. Requesting a room away from high-traffic areas can improve sleep quality.

The indoor swimming pool and fitness centre offer a way to unwind or stay active during your stay. The pool area is clean and suitable for families, though it has been noted to close relatively early in the evening. The fitness centre is well-equipped with exercise machines. Both facilities have been reported as clean and functional, though the property's ongoing renovations may affect access or hours. No additional leisure amenities such as a spa, sauna, or game room are present. Use of the pool and gym is included in the room rate.

The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk with an ATM on-site. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Luggage storage is complimentary, which is useful for guests with late departures or early arrivals. A business centre and fax/photocopying services support work needs. The free airport shuttle provides transfers to LaGuardia Airport, but its availability has been inconsistent due to renovations and staffing; always confirm with reception before relying on it. Public parking is on-site but limited to fewer than 20 spaces, costs $22 per day, and requires a reservation-first-come, first-served without a guarantee. Laundry facilities are available, and vending machines (snacks and drinks) supplement the on-site restaurant. Safety deposit boxes are provided. Accessibility features include wheelchair access and facilities for disabled guests. Housekeeping service is daily but may knock early; request servicing at reception if you prefer a specific schedule.
