THE LOCAL - ST. AUGUSTINE, St. Augustine

The motel occupies a quiet residential area on the island, just across the bridge from St. Augustine's historic core, making it easy to walk downtown in under 15 minutes. The Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is under 1 km away, and Flagler College and Castillo de San Marcos are within 2 km. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is about 2 km south, and the beach is less than 10 minutes by car. Numerous restaurants, bars, and a grocery shop are within a 5-minute walk. Free private parking on site, combined with the free bicycle rental, makes car-free exploration practical. The surrounding area also offers boating activities.

Rooms are appointed with a mid-century retro aesthetic, featuring tiled floors, a private entrance, a dining area, and a safe deposit box. The private bathrooms include a walk-in shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries; some rooms offer a rain shower. Standard queen rooms are compact but well-suited for couples, while larger double rooms are available for more space - recommended for families or those needing two beds. The room includes a dehumidifier, air purifier, and white noise generator for comfort; ear plugs are also provided. Rooms facing outward offer pool views, and the property is in a quiet area, contributing to restful sleep. A wheelchair-accessible room with a roll-in shower is available and should be requested when booking.

The on-site dining option is limited to the free coffee bar, but the location excels for outside dining. Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find a diverse selection: Chop Shop Artisan Butcher, Funkadelic Food Truck, Cheba Hut Toasted Subs, Gypsy Cab Company, and The Corner Bar are all within 0.5 km. Several more restaurants, including Llama Restaurant and Mojo's, are within 0.5 km. For guests who prefer self-catering, each room includes a refrigerator, microwave, and tea/coffee maker, and a grocery store is directly across the street.

The outdoor pool is open all year and includes a shallow end, making it suitable for families with young children. The sun terrace and outdoor seating area provide space to relax, and the fitness centre allows for a workout without leaving the property. Free bicycle rental is a practical way to explore the island and reach nearby attractions, including the historic district and the beach.

Wi-Fi is free and available in all rooms. Free private on-site parking requires a reservation in advance - there is no RV parking on site, but street parking is available nearby. The fully contactless check-in and check-out system is operated via text or app, with fast responses from the team. The property is wheelchair accessible and offers a specific accessible room with a roll-in shower. Pets are allowed (up to 2 dogs, combined weight limit 27 kg, non-refundable $75 plus tax fee). Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and key card access. A 24/7 coffee bar, water filter, and ice machine are available in the lobby, along with a comfortable seating area known as the Florida Room.
