THE QUEENS HOSTEL, London

Located on South Africa Road in White City, Zone 2, the hostel is a 2-minute walk from Queens Park Rangers stadium and a 15-minute walk from Westfield Shopping Centre with its tube station (Central line). White City and Wood Lane Underground stations are within a 5-minute walk, connecting to central London in under 20 minutes. Bus stops are right outside. Olympia Exhibition Centre is 2 km away and Hammersmith Apollo is 2 km. London Heathrow is 16 km away - accessible by tube from White City station. The area is residential and generally quiet, with several cafés, restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

All rooms are shared dorms. Room options include 4-bed, 6-bed and a 12-bed basement dorm. Some rooms have windows and natural light, while others (especially the basement area) have no windows. Ventilation is basic and rooms can get hot in summer - no air conditioning or fans are provided. Beds are single bunks with sheets and towel provided. Linen is reportedly changed on a fixed schedule. No lockable doors on dorm rooms - locks rely on passcodes which may not be changed between occupants. Private rooms are not available. There is no soundproofing; noise from adjoining spaces can carry.

There is no restaurant or bar. The hostel provides a well-equipped communal kitchen with utensils, microwave, fridge/freezer and hob. Free tea and coffee are available. Kitchen operating hours are roughly 06:00-21:30/22:00; after closing, no access is allowed. The kitchen area doubles as the only social common space, but is not open late. A wide range of dining options is within a 5-10 minute walk around Westfield and Shepherd's Bush, including international cuisine chains and local takeaways.

The hostel does not have a spa, swimming pool or fitness centre. Leisure amenities are limited - free darts and tennis equipment are provided, with tennis courts available off-site at no extra charge. A golf course is within 3 km for an additional fee. The area around Shepherd's Bush and Westfield offers cinemas, shopping and a Japanese garden nearby for a quiet stroll.

Free WiFi is available throughout. Daily housekeeping is provided free of charge. Luggage storage is free and lockers can be hired at £10. Safety deposit boxes are available for an additional charge. CCTV covers common areas and the exterior, with smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. The reception is staffed from 08:00 to 23:00; out-of-hours access is via a door code sent by prior arrangement.
