The Reserve Retreat is centrally located in the historic Ringling family estate, just five minutes from downtown Sarasota and a ten-minute drive to St. Armand's Circle. The Sarasota Bay park is directly across the street, offering a playground, fishing pier, and picnic areas with sunset views. Lido Key Beach is a five-minute drive away. Public transport includes nearby bus lines, and Uber/Lyft are readily available. The location is ideal for exploring the Ringling Museum, New College, and the Circus Arts Conservatory on foot or by a short ride.

Each room is individually decorated in a rustic boutique style, housed within three historic buildings from the Ringling era. All rooms feature king-size beds, private en-suite walk-in showers, free toiletries, and flat-screen TVs with streaming services. Some rooms include full kitchens or kitchenettes with cookware and utensils; others offer a minibar, work desk, and courtyard views. The Otto Ringling Room accommodates two king beds. A separate 65 m² casita in the Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores neighborhood is available for longer stays. Rooms facing the busy street may experience traffic noise, while courtyard-facing rooms are quieter. Stairs to upper floors are steep, and there is no elevator. The shared courtyard provides outdoor seating and green space.

The Reserve by Chef Antonio serves Mediterranean cuisine for dinner from 16:30 to 21:00 daily, with a romantic indoor and outdoor setting. Live music and open-mic nights are held on weekends. Jessie's Café & Coffee offers American and Mexican breakfast and lunch items, including organic Java Dawg coffee, loose-leaf teas, bottomless mimosas, and a beer/wine bar with 2-for-1 specials Wednesday through Friday. The café menu changes daily. Breakfast is à la carte; guests receive free coffee. Note that the café may close for renovations or holidays, so checking ahead is recommended. The restaurant and café are integral to the property, accessed through the historic building.

Wellness and leisure options are location-driven. The Sarasota Bay park across the street offers a playground, fishing, and picnic areas. Lido Key Beach is a five-minute drive away; the hotel supplies beach chairs and towels for guest use. Off-site activities such as cycling, canoeing, fishing, and golf (within 3 km) are available at additional cost. The shared courtyard and patio provide a relaxing outdoor space. Live music and events at the restaurant add evening entertainment. There is no pool on site.

The property offers free public parking on site without reservation, including accessible spaces and street parking. WiFi is free throughout. Check-in is express and contactless; instructions are provided via email or left in a mailbox. The check-in payment is processed at arrival. Pets are welcome in a few designated rooms with a fee, but smoking is not allowed anywhere. There is no restaurant on-site open for dinner on Christmas Day, but the hotel remains open. Luggage storage is available by arrangement. Accessibility is limited: one ground-floor room exists, but no elevator serves the upper rooms.
