TOWNEPLACE SUITES BY MARRIOTT HOUSTON HOBBY AIRPORT, Houston

The hotel sits directly off a major highway, providing quick routes to the airport, downtown (about 10 minutes), the University of Houston (13 km), and the Houston Zoo (17 km). The surrounding area is primarily other hotels and motels, with several chain restaurants (Denny's, Taco Cabana) and local spots like La Playita Bar & Grill within 1 km. For those without a car, the hotel offers a complimentary Lyft service to and from the airport. Note that the highway is immediately adjacent, and road noise can be significant, especially in rooms facing the interstate. The neighborhood has been reported as less safe at night, and vehicle break-ins have occurred in the parking lot.

Room types include King Studios, Queen Studios with two queen beds, and one-bedroom King suites. All rooms feature a private bathroom with a bath or shower (some accessible rooms have bathtubs), air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, a work desk, a sofa bed, and a dining area. The kitchenettes are equipped with a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and tea/coffee maker; King suites additionally include an oven. Rooms are generally clean and modern, but noise from the highway and neighboring rooms can be a concern. Some rooms have been reported as small, with limited storage and worn furniture. Higher-floor, even-numbered rooms tend to be quieter. The property has carpeted hallways and rooms.

The outdoor pool is surrounded by a sun terrace with loungers and umbrellas, and pool towels are provided. The fitness centre is in good condition. An outdoor fireplace and BBQ facilities with outdoor furniture are available for guest use. Note that the pool has been reported as intermittently out of service or with green water, so it is wise to confirm its status before relying on it for your stay.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, though some have experienced slow or unreliable connections. A 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a minimarket are available. The business centre offers free fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities for an additional charge. Guest laundry is self-serve with coin-operated machines. Daily housekeeping is free, with dry cleaning and laundry services available at an extra cost. The property has a lift, key card access, smoke alarms, and fire extinguishers. Pets are allowed for a one-time fee. Parking costs $8 per day and must be reserved in advance. Vehicle security in the parking lot has been a recurring concern, with reports of theft and break-ins.
