Hotel Details

Location

Trinity College sits on 14 hectares in Dublin's city centre, a 10-minute walk from Temple Bar and Grafton Street.
The college is a 5-minute walk from Tara Street DART station (direct trains to Howth and Dún Laoghaire). Dublin Airport buses stop just outside the campus. Most city-centre attractions-Dublin Castle, Christ Church Cathedral, and St. Stephen's Green-are within a 10-15-minute walk. The campus gates are locked at night, with 24-hour security, creating a quiet, safe enclave in an otherwise busy area. However, some rooms face busy streets (e.g., Pearse Street) and can experience significant traffic noise, especially with windows open-windows only tilt open a few centimetres. Rooms overlooking the inner courtyard are noticeably quieter.

Accommodation

Rooms vary from historic single study rooms to modern en-suite apartments, all with bed linen, towels, and tea/coffee facilities.
Single rooms are individually locked and located in historic buildings or shared apartments (2-4 bedrooms). En-suite double/twin rooms have private bathrooms. Historic rooms may require climbing stairs (no elevator in older buildings); some are up to 0.5 km from reception. Modern apartments (e.g., in the Business School) have lifts but often multiple flights of stairs remain. No air conditioning is installed due to the historic nature of the buildings; rooms can become very hot, even with windows cracked open. Windows open only a small gap-this, combined with street noise, can make sleeping difficult in warm weather. Beds vary; some are described as comfortable, others as sagging or uncomfortably hard. Showers in historic rooms can be very small (approx. 50x50 cm) with fixed heads and poor drainage. Bathrooms may have motion-sensor lights that turn off while in use. Single rooms in 2-4 bedroom apartments share a bathroom and kitchen; en-suite options are private. Basic toiletries (shampoo, soap, body wash) are provided.

Dining

Breakfast is served from 07:30-10:00 at the Buttery restaurant for €18, offering continental and full Irish/Irish breakfast options.
The Buttery also serves lunch and operates as a café (opening hours vary). Its menu includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. The campus coffee shop offers coffee and light snacks. Shared kitchens in apartment-style rooms have microwaves, kettles, hobs, ovens, and basic crockery-useful for preparing meals. Several restaurants and pubs are within a 5-minute walk, including The Bank on College Green and Oliver St John Gogarty, offering a range of local cuisine.

Wellness and Leisure

An indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna, and yoga classes are available for €5 per day.
The wellness facilities include a fitness centre with locker rooms, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, and yoga classes. Access costs €5 per day for campus accommodation guests. Additional recreational amenities available at an extra charge include badminton equipment, table tennis, tennis courts and equipment, and walking tours. The indoor swimming pool is open all year (Mon-Fri 07:00-21:00, Sat-Sun 10:00-17:00). The 14 hectare campus itself provides green spaces and historic courtyards for quiet walks.
