EGANS HOUSE, Dublin

The B&B sits in a residential neighbourhood with pubs, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. Regular buses to Temple Bar stop nearby (10-minute ride); Dublin Bus routes 16 and 41 provide direct airport access for €2.60 per person. Taxis cost €23-€35 to or from the airport. The National Botanic Gardens and Dalymount Park are close by. Though outside the immediate city centre, the area feels safe and offers a quieter stay, with easy access to both tourist sites and transport links.

Room sizes and conditions vary significantly. Some rooms are very small (especially attic singles, around 7m2), while others are spacious and bright. Noise can be an issue - thin walls and plumbing sounds carry, and rooms near reception or with hallway light sensors may disturb light sleepers; request a room away from these if possible. Heating is available, but no air conditioning; a fan can be borrowed from reception. Cleanliness is inconsistent - some rooms have stained linens or carpets, though daily housekeeping is standard. Most rooms have carpeted floors, electric kettles, and ironing facilities. Cots are free and some rooms can accommodate fold-up beds.

The garden provides a peaceful spot to sit and read, especially in warmer months. The spacious lounge is a comfortable area for socialising or watching television. Board games and puzzles are available for families. There are no on-site wellness facilities like a gym or pool, but the quiet neighbourhood and nearby parks, such as the National Botanic Gardens, offer outdoor leisure options within walking distance.

Daily housekeeping is complementary, and staff can assist with transport bookings and sightseeing advice. A safety deposit box, lockers, and fax/photocopying are available. Check-in is from 14:00, check-out by 11:00; late arrivals can use the night bell. Pets are not allowed. The property has no lift, so upper-floor rooms require stairs. Street parking (pay & display, max 3 hours, €6 per session) is an alternative if on-site is full. Two electric vehicle charging stations are on-site.
