Soundproofing is minimal: all internal noise from hallways and neighbouring rooms travels easily. The rooms are located on the ground floor behind the building's entrance, so privacy is limited unless curtains are kept closed. The shared bathrooms are separated by gender, with a bath and shower, and are generally kept clean, though occasionally towels or toilet paper may run out.

The communal kitchen is equipped for basic meal preparation: each room gets its own shelf and compartment in the fridge.
