U SCHNELLU, Prague

The hotel sits on a busy junction with a tram stop directly outside, providing direct connections across the city, including to Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square, both about 10 minutes away on foot. Charles Bridge, the Franz Kafka Museum, and Prague Castle are all within a 10-minute walk. Malostranská underground station is a 5-minute walk, while many restaurants, bars, and cafés are in the immediate surroundings. An airport shuttle can be arranged for an additional fee, though public transport is also straightforward. The neighbourhood is lively by day but quieter after midnight once trams stop running.

Rooms offer high ceilings and views of Baroque architecture and churches. Options range from single rooms (compact) to spacious doubles, twin/double rooms, and a two-bedroom suite. All rooms are accessible only by stairs - no lift is available. Road-facing rooms experience tram noise from around 05:00 to 00:00, so requesting an inner room is advisable for light sleepers. Some bathrooms have walk-in showers, others have a bathtub or shower; a few may lack a shower curtain, causing water spillage. The building is historic, which adds character but also means older carpeting and a creaky floor in some rooms. No minibar, tea/coffee-making facilities or balcony are provided. Air conditioning is present but can be noisy; a quiet room is possible if AC is off.

The restaurant offers breakfast (continental buffet), lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour, plus a coffee house on site. Breakfast includes hot dishes, bread, cheese, meats, fruit, and good coffee; a breakfast-to-go can be prepared on request for early departures. The dinner menu features traditional Czech and international dishes, with a bar and wine/champagne available. Kids' meals and special diet menus are available on request. Some find the restaurant prices higher than nearby alternatives, but the 20% hotel discount makes it a reasonable option after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel does not provide free tea or coffee during the day; these are available for purchase at the bar.

Wellness options are limited to paid massage treatments, including back, couples, foot, full body, head, and neck massage. There is no swimming pool or wellness centre. Bicycle rental and a golf course (within 3 km) are available for an additional charge. Board games and puzzles are provided for family entertainment. The hotel's shared lounge/TV area offers a casual space to relax.

The 24-hour front desk offers concierge, currency exchange, express check-in/check-out, lockers, and tour desk. Free luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. Housekeeping is daily (bed making and towel replacement; linens are not automatically changed unless requested). Laundry, dry cleaning, and ironing service are available at an additional charge. The property is entirely non-smoking. Business facilities include free fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities. Family rooms and board games are provided. No pets are allowed, but pet bowls are noted as available. The airport shuttle is a paid service that must be booked in advance and is not the hotel's own vehicle - the hotel arranges a car for a fee. Parking is public, off-site (nearby in blue zones), costs €29.90 per day, and requires a reservation.
