VAGABOND INN SAN PEDRO, Los Angeles

The motel sits on a busy, noisy main road, so light sleepers may prefer a rear-facing room. The World Cruise Center is a 3-minute drive or a 30-minute walk; a free one-way shuttle is provided for cruise passengers. Downtown San Pedro, with restaurants like Raffaello Ristorante and Baramee Thai, is 1 km away. Fast-food options and shops (Rite Aid, 7-Eleven) are within a 2-minute walk. The area is not recommended for late-night walking. Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is a 10-minute drive. No airport shuttle is available; ride-share from LAX runs about $100.

Rooms come with a private bathroom (bath or shower), air conditioning, heating, flat-screen cable TV with HBO, telephone, work desk, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms include a refrigerator; microwaves are available on request. Double and family room configurations exist. The property shows significant signs of age: peeling paint, worn furniture, stained carpets and bedding have been noted. Noise from the main road can be intrusive, especially in front-facing rooms. Bed comfort and water temperature consistency vary. A lift serves upper floors.

Breakfast is a self-serve grab-and-go option available on weekends, including packaged pastries, granola bars, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and tea. Weekday breakfast availability is not guaranteed. There is no restaurant or bar on the property. Several fast-food chains (McDonald's, KFC, El Pollo Loco) and casual dining (Raffaello Ristorante, Baramee Thai) are within a 5-10 minute walk. A vending machine with drinks and snacks is available 24/7. Coffee and tea are offered in the lobby.

The outdoor swimming pool is open all year from 9:00 to 21:00, features a shallow end and sun umbrellas, and is fenced for safety. No spa, jacuzzi, or fitness centre is available on site. Nearby off-site activities include cycling, fishing, golf, hiking, horse riding, and live performances, some for an additional fee. The pool provides a simple leisure option for a short stay.
