VATICAN CATONE APARTMENTS, Rome

The apartments are situated in the Prati district, a 6-minute walk from the Vatican Museums and 600 metres from St Peter's Square. Lepanto Metro Station is less than 1 km away, and Rome Ciampino Airport is 18 km from the property. The area offers excellent walkability for exploring the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, and central Rome, with multiple bus stops and metro lines nearby. Numerous restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, and a supermarket is close at hand.

Units range from studios to 3-bedroom apartments sleeping up to 10 people, with each bedroom having its own private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Rooms feature air conditioning (though some units have had faulty or non-functional units), heating, tiled floors, a flat-screen TV, and city views. However, the accommodation suffers from significant, recurring issues: bed bugs and cockroaches are a known infestation across multiple apartments. Many guests report dirty walls, mouldy bathrooms, broken fixtures, unsafe electrical sockets, and worn-out, squeaky beds. The properties are often described as dated, poorly cleaned, and not matching the advertised photos.

Services include express check-in/out, private check-in/out, a concierge, and luggage storage. A paid airport shuttle service is offered. The main reception is only open from 13:00 to 19:00, leaving guests without immediate on-site support outside those hours. While some staff are described as helpful and friendly, the overall organisation has been criticised. The lift is narrow and may not accommodate a wheelchair. Free WiFi is provided throughout, though connectivity can be unreliable. Luggage storage is a useful feature for early arrivals or late departures.
