The area is packed with restaurants, bars, and hawker centres - Song Fa Bak Kut Teh and numerous eateries are within 0.5 km. However, the immediate vicinity includes several nightclubs that play loud music until early morning, significantly affecting sleep quality for light sleepers.

Rooms are mixed-gender dorms with metal bunks. Each bed includes a curtain, personal reading light, and a power socket. Lockers are available per bed with a refundable SGD10 deposit; bring your own padlock. Shared bathrooms have showers and bidets; towels and hairdryers are provided free. Air conditioning cools the dorm but is centrally controlled - it can become very cold. Mattresses are firm and some have reported thin blankets. The hostel operates a no-alcohol policy and no cooking is allowed. A washing machine and basic kitchen with fridge and dining area are available for guest use (kitchen for food storage and consumption, not cooking). Noise from adjacent clubs is a major drawback, with music vibrating through walls, especially in lower-floor rooms.
