ALPHA INN AND SUITES, San Francisco

The hotel sits on iconic Lombard Street, within walking distance to the Presidio and several parks. Golden Gate Park is 4 km away. A bus stop is directly outside, making public transport easy for downtown and the waterfront. Numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores are within a 5-minute walk. The area feels safe for walking at night, and street parking is available but limited; the free on-site lot is a major advantage.

Rooms are notably large, often with separate seating areas and walk-in closets. Some offer views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. All include air conditioning, soundproof walls, tea/coffee making facilities, and a desk. Beds are comfortable for many, though some have found mattresses soft. Windows do not open, so rooms rely on air conditioning. Street-facing rooms can experience traffic noise; interior rooms are quieter. The hotel has no elevator, so lower-floor rooms are recommended for those with heavy luggage.

The hotel provides a continental buffet with bread, pastries, fresh fruit, and hot drinks. While the selection is basic for a city stay, it is a practical option for a quick start. The breakfast room is open for guests to use. For a wider meal, numerous restaurants within a short walk offer pizza, wings, Indian, American, and coffee options.
