AMSTEL HOUSE HOSTEL, Berlin

The property sits on a quieter street in central Berlin, with the U-Bahn, tram, and bus stops all within a 5- to 10-minute walk. The TXL direct bus to Tegel Airport (historic) stops nearby, while trains from Berlin Brandenburg (BER) connect via the FEX train to Hauptbahnhof, then bus 245 to U-Turmstrasse. Zoologischer Garten railway station and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church are reachable in 5 minutes. Several restaurants, bars, and a market are within 0.3-0.5 km, making it easy to explore the area on foot.

Rooms range from single and double private rooms (some with en-suite shower and toilet) to mixed and female-only dorms. All dorms and private rooms with shared facilities include lockers (bring a padlock), a reading lamp, and a shelf. Some rooms have a private washbasin, which makes morning routines easier. The triple room has a private shower. The building has a lift. While the property's age means some fittings are dated, the rooms are kept clean and functionally furnished.

A breakfast buffet is served daily on site for €9 (subject to change). The buffet includes continental options and caters to dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal. There is no full restaurant, but a bar and a coffee shop on site offer drinks and snacks. Guests can also use the well-equipped shared kitchen to prepare their own meals. The surrounding area has numerous restaurants and a market (Markthalle Berlin) within a short walk.

The hostel features a pool table and a table tennis table in the common area, and board games are available at reception. A shared lounge with a TV provides a comfortable space to relax on cooler days. In summer (March-October), Friday evening barbecues are occasionally held in the courtyard, sometimes with live music. A beauty corner with hairdryers is open from 8:30 to 22:00. There is no spa, pool, or gym.

The hostel offers free Wi-Fi in all areas, a shared kitchen (with crockery and utensils), a shared lounge/TV area, and a lift. Services include luggage storage (free before check-in and until midnight on checkout day), lockers in rooms, a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, and a safety deposit box.
