HOTEL NIKOLAI RESIDENCE, Berlin

The hotel sits in a quiet cobblestoned area steps from the Berlin Cathedral and TV Tower. Klosterstrasse Underground Station is a 7-minute walk, and Alexanderplatz S-Bahn station is 10 minutes on foot. The Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag are 15 minutes away by public transport. The A100 motorway is a 15-minute drive. Numerous restaurants, cafés, and bars are within a 5-10 minute walk, covering traditional German and international cuisine. For airport access, take the S-Bahn S9 from Schönefeld to Alexanderplatz, then a short walk. Private parking is available on site (€20/day, reservation needed).

Rooms are well-equipped with a seating area, electric kettle, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Most bathrooms have walk-in showers; no bathtubs are available. The hotel offers standard double/twin rooms, triple rooms, and family rooms (deluxe family rooms have three separate spaces with a door dividing a 4- and 2-person area, sharing one bathroom). No rooms have balconies. A fan is provided in each room as there is no air conditioning. Soundproofed windows and walls help keep noise levels low, though some ground-floor rooms at the rear face the courtyard and may experience morning bin collection sounds. Beds are generally comfortable, and daily housekeeping keeps rooms clean. Some rooms feature a terrace.

The hotel does not serve breakfast or operate a restaurant. A wide variety of dining options are within 300 metres, including traditional German taverns, international cuisine, and casual cafés. Many restaurants and bars stay open late. For those preferring to eat at the hotel, room service is available (limited to snacks and drinks). A grocery store (Netto) is a few blocks away for self-catering.

There is no spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre. For leisure, the hotel offers bicycle rental (chargeable), organised bike tours, walking tours, and pub crawls (all for a fee). A shared lounge and TV area is available. The property also has a sun terrace and a children's playground. These activities are arranged off-site or on request.
