The hotel is 200 metres from Gare du Nord and 400 metres from Gare de l'Est, with multiple metro lines and RER connections that reach major Paris landmarks and both airports. The area is busy and functional, and while some find the immediate surroundings less comfortable late at night, the practical convenience for travellers arriving or departing by train is unmatched. Grands Boulevards with its department stores, theatres, and bistros is a 20-minute walk away. Several restaurants and shops are within a 5-minute walk, and the tram stop outside provides car-free access to the city centre.

Each room includes a private bathroom with toiletries and hairdryer, satellite and cable TV, and some have tea and coffee making facilities. Comfort Double Rooms measure approximately 18 m2. A few rooms (around 5) have a balcony, available on request only and not guaranteed. The property has recently renovated, modern rooms with comfortable beds and good showers. Road-facing rooms may pick up street noise, and some rooms near the lift shaft can be noisier - opting for a courtyard or higher floor helps. Rooms are compact, typical for central Paris, so prioritise them for location and transport convenience over space.

Breakfast is a continental buffet with breads, pastries, cheese, ham, eggs, yoghurt, juice, and coffee, served from 06:30-10:30 on weekdays and 07:00-11:00 on weekends. It costs 17€ if purchased separately, and booking with breakfast included saves money. The breakfast room is ground floor. There is no restaurant at the hotel for lunch or dinner - the bar is open for drinks. The surrounding area has many Indian, French, and international restaurants within a few minutes' walk, making it easy to plan meals outside the hotel.

The wellness offer at Hotel Appia is limited to the shared lounge/TV area and board games available on site. For relaxation, the hotel is within walking distance of Grands Boulevards and Montmartre, and the tour desk can arrange sightseeing and concert tickets.
