BARKSDALE HOUSE INN, Charleston

Rooms are individually furnished in European-style decor and vary by building and floor. The main house offers rooms on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors; the carriage house has quieter rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors. Road-facing rooms on lower floors can hear street noise, while upper-floor rooms require climbing stairs (no elevator). Ground-floor options (rooms 1, 2, 11, 14) are available for those with mobility needs. Room 9 has two queen beds. Deluxe king rooms 5 and 6 are on the second floor. Some rooms on the 3rd floor have limited wardrobe space and may feel dated in decor, with occasional reports of worn carpet or bathroom fixtures. The carriage house is known for being quieter. All rooms are non-smoking and have key access for security.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:00 and is prepared fresh per order, with a variety of hot and cold choices. Dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, celiac) are accommodated graciously.
