Rooms are described as fresh, big and comfortable, with high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural air. Beds are comfortable with good quality linen. Shared bathrooms are generally clean and readily available, though some shower cubicles are small and maintenance can be inconsistent. There is no air conditioning; rooms rely on fans and open windows for cooling. Noise from the downstairs bar and nightclub can carry into rooms, especially those facing the pub. Dormitories have lockers, and the hostel accepts guests of all ages.

The Bat and Ball pub operates downstairs and serves a full menu from lunch through evening, including chicken schnitzel, steaks, Sunday roasts, lasagne and vegan options. Weekly specials include $17 schnitzel on Tuesdays and $20 steak on Thursdays. The pub also has a bottle shop and a large beer garden. Hostel residents receive a 15% discount on food and drinks.
