The hostel is perfectly positioned for exploring Sydney on foot: the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and The Rocks are all within a 20-30 minute walk. Central Station is a short 700 m walk, providing direct trains to the airport and suburban lines. The Chinatown tram stop and a Coles supermarket are just around the corner. Numerous restaurants and pubs line the surrounding streets, with a range of Thai, Vietnamese, and international options. The area is very walkable, but street noise from Pitt Street can be significant, particularly on lower floors.

Rooms are basic and compact, with carpeted floors and a small fan but no air conditioning or heating. Bunk beds can be rickety, and mattresses vary. Some rooms have windows that do not close fully, letting in street noise and cold drafts. Linen and one towel are provided free; extra towels cost $4. Only one power socket per room means charging phones requires leaving them on the floor. A communal TV/cinema room on the 3rd floor has Foxtel. Lockers are available in some dorms or paid security lockers can be used.

The property's own bar and bistro serves classic pub food in the evening. No breakfast service is available, but the large shared kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans and fridge rooms where guests can prepare their own meals. The surrounding area is rich with dining options: Din Tai Fung, Boon Cafe, and Mamak are all within 0.5 km. A Coles supermarket is a 3-minute walk for groceries.

Wellness facilities are not present, but the hostel compensates with a strong social and leisure programme. Free walking tours, movie nights, and a games room with billiards are available. The highlight is the nightly events: free hot dog night (Monday), free burger night (Tuesday), free chicken and rice night (Thursday), free pancakes (Sunday), plus pub crawls and themed parties. The 3rd-floor cinema room shows Foxtel programming. A sun terrace and outdoor furniture provide additional common space.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout; however, strength can be weak in some rooms. A launderette is available for a charge. Free luggage storage is offered on the day of arrival and departure, and the 24-hour front desk can arrange early check-in if the room is ready. In-room lockers are not guaranteed; paid security lockers are available for larger items. Hairdryers and irons can be borrowed from reception. The property is not wheelchair accessible and has no lift - all rooms are up multiple flights of stairs. A vending machine sells drinks and snacks.
