LITTLE DRIFTER BONDI, Sydney

The hostel sits on Lamrock Avenue, 300 metres from Bondi Beach. Bondi Markets and Icebergs Pool are within 500 metres, and the famous Icebergs Restaurant & Bar is a 10-minute walk. Sydney Airport is 12 km away (25 minutes by car), and the city centre is a 20-minute drive. A bus stop at the end of the street connects to Bondi Junction station (2 km), from which trains run to the CBD. Free street parking is available on Blair Street about 5-10 minutes on foot. Shops, supermarkets, and dozens of eateries are within 2 minutes' walk.

Renovated in August 2024, the hostel offers custom-built bunks in dorms with personal lights, charging ports, lockable storage, and privacy curtains. Premium dorms provide extra floor space. Private rooms range from loft-style setups with a lounge area and TV to queen and single rooms with ensuites. Female-only dorms are available. Room size varies significantly: standard dorms and compact private rooms are notably small, and some bathrooms are tight-the toilet is very close to the door. Noise can carry through walls and under doors; rooms near common areas or the entrance are more exposed to hallway activity. Daily cleaning is scheduled, though consistency has been noted. Bedding is provided; towels are available for a fee. No fridges in rooms-shared kitchen fridges are used instead.

The kitchen can get busy during peak meal times but is well-organised with labelled storage for personal food. Vending machines offer drinks and snacks. Breakfast may be bookable during reservation-check availability when selecting dates. The surrounding area abounds with cafés and restaurants: Trio Cafe, Lamrock Cafe, Flour Eggs Water, and Hurricane's Grill are within a 3-minute walk. Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is 10 minutes away. A supermarket is nearby for grocery shopping.

The property does not have its own pool or spa, but Bondi Beach is a 3-minute walk and Icebergs ocean pool is 400 metres away. Surfboard hire is available nearby. Indoor recreation includes board games, a lounge with TV, and a co-working space. The social events-such as sunset runs and group meals-help connect travellers. The outdoor courtyard provides seating for relaxation.

Laundry machines are available for $3 per wash and $3 per dry. Vending machines, express check-in/out via the app, and daily cleaning are included. There is no elevator; all floors are accessed by stairs. Bike parking spots are available. Reception is staffed from 08:00 to 20:30; after-hours entry is handled through an automated key retrieval system. Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) are accepted. No airport shuttle service is provided.
