B&B DI PIAZZA DEL DUOMO, Florence

The Uffizi Gallery and Accademia delle Belle Arti are 5 minutes away on foot, and the main shopping streets of Via de' Tornabuoni and Via dei Calzaiuoli are just steps away. Santa Maria Novella Station is a 15-minute walk (700 m), making it easy to reach without a car. The location is central for all major sights. For drivers, the nearest garage is Parking Duomo at 250 m. The square stays active until late evening, which can add ambient noise; the Duomo-facing rooms are better for those who value the view, while the interior small double rooms offer more quiet.

The B&B offers a range of room types: single, double, twin, and a deluxe double with a balcony - the only room type that includes a private balcony with direct Duomo views. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms (except the room with an external private bathroom located next door). Each room comes with a TV, a cooling fan, and free Wi-Fi. Selected rooms also include air conditioning, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a fridge (3 rooms have private fridges; the other 3 share a communal fridge at reception). Rooms vary in size; the larger doubles and the deluxe balcony room offer more space, while smaller single and double rooms are more compact. The property is housed on the 2nd floor of a historic palace without a functioning lift. The Duomo-facing rooms can have noise from the square until after 10 PM, so those wanting silence should choose a small double room away from the piazza.

Breakfast vouchers are redeemable at Florerè Caffè Bistrot and the Duomo Museum cafe, both located on Piazza del Duomo. The breakfast typically includes cappuccino, orange juice, a pastry, and a sandwich. Many find the museum cafe to be the better option for quality and variety. Gluten-free options can be accommodated if arranged in advance. The B&B has no restaurant on site, but dozens of dining options - including Osteria del Proconsolo, Lo Scudo, and Yellow Bar - are within a short walk on the surrounding streets. For self-catering, a minimarket is located on the premises.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the rooms. Daily housekeeping is included without extra charge. Luggage storage is available free of charge at the reception room, allowing guests to drop off bags early on arrival or store them after check-out. A water refill station and a communal fridge are located at reception. The property offers an electric kettle, tea and coffee in some rooms, and a flat-screen TV. Safety features include fire extinguishers, key access, and a safety deposit box. Taxis to Florence Airport can be booked through the host for 25 EUR plus 1 EUR per bag. An airport shuttle is not available. Parking must be arranged off-site. The B&B accepts American Express, Visa, Maestro, CartaSi, and MasterCard.
