The property sits in an area with an excellent location score of 9.7, surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops, and trolley stops. Nearly all historic attractions, dining, and nightlife are within a 5- to 10-minute walk, making it possible to leave your car and explore on foot. Note that the area can be very loud at night due to nearby bars and clubs.

Rooms are compact and recently remodeled with modern decor, but walls are thin and noise transmission is high - particularly from outside bars and neighboring rooms. Bed sizes vary from queen to king, and some rooms offer bay views (request upon booking). Second-floor access is via stairs only. For light sleepers, choosing a room away from the rear (toward the front or side) is strongly recommended. Room doors open outward to maximize interior space. There are no private balconies; a shared upper deck provides bay views.

For a hot breakfast, the adjacent Mary's Harbor View Cafe offers a 10% discount to hotel guests. Many other dining options are within a short walk, including Meehan's Irish Pub, Catch 27, and The Hyppo. The hotel does not have its own restaurant or bar. A vending machine provides drinks.

The pool area is not heated. Pets are not allowed in the pool area. There is no spa, jacuzzi, or fitness centre. The shared upper deck overlooking the bay provides a pleasant seating area for relaxation.
