BEST WESTERN PLUS HOTEL GLOBUS, Rome

The hotel sits in a lively university and hospital area with excellent transport connections. Policlinico metro station is a 5-7 minute walk, providing direct access to Termini (2 stops) and the Colosseum (4 stops). Bus 310 stops directly opposite the hotel and reaches Termini in about 20 minutes; tram 3 runs from a nearby stop to the Colosseum in around 30 minutes. The surrounding San Lorenzo district is packed with restaurants, cafés and pubs, and supermarkets are a short walk from the metro. The location is safe and practical for exploring Rome, though the proximity to hospitals means regular ambulance sirens - particularly noticeable in street-facing rooms.

All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a private bathroom with hairdryer, flat-screen satellite TV, safe, minibar, and tea/coffee making facilities. Some rooms include a balcony - mostly overlooking the street. Soundproofing is limited, so rooms facing the main road may experience traffic and ambulance noise; lighter sleepers should request an inward-facing room. Room sizes vary from single to family configurations: family rooms can accommodate up to 4 with two double beds and a sofa bed, and interconnecting doors are available on request. Daily housekeeping is provided, and towels are changed daily. Kettles, irons and hairdryers are supplied. Standard fridges are available in rooms, and complimentary bottled water is restocked.

A large buffet breakfast is offered from 7:00 to 10:00 in the ground-floor restaurant, with hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages), pastries, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, and gluten-free options. Coffee is made to order by a barista. Dinner is available Sunday through Thursday from 19:30 to 22:00, featuring an à la carte menu with Italian cuisine - a limited but well-prepared selection. The rooftop bar (6th floor) serves aperitifs from 18:30 to 22:30, and the hotel also has a coffee shop on-site. The breakfast room can get crowded during peak hours; arriving early or late helps avoid queues.

The hotel does not have its own wellness facilities, but staff can arrange discounted entry to a local gym and beauty centre. For leisure within the hotel, there is a shared lounge/TV area and a terrace. The rooftop bar provides a pleasant spot for an evening drink. Children are catered for with toys, DVDs and a PlayStation 2 console available on request.
